Syringomyelia Presenting as Lower Cervical Radiculopathy: A case report
Abstract
Syringonyella may prevent with eonfusing. willateml Patterns or segmental muscle involvemets and mcsoclated say kiss The objective of this study was to retain a patient with syringesnyclia and Chiari malformation type 1(CM I) who had an unusual presentation suggesting lower cervical radiculopathy. A 50-year-old woman presented with clinical evidence of left lower cervical radloulopathy. Nerve conduction studies revealed nonal in both motor and sensory nerves of the lett upper extremity. Electromyography showed almonnai sponmneous activities In the para cervical muceles at C7-T1 levels and in some examined muscles of the left upper extremity such as abductor pollicla brevis and abduc-tor digit minim( muscles. Magnetic resonance Imaging of cervical spine demonsuated syrinsomyelia at C4-T4 levels. Syrinsomyclia may clinically mimic lower cervical radiculopathy.
